Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Don't I have to be in shape before I start?
Isn't that why you are coming to us in the first place? We don't mean to answer a question with a question, but our job is to get you in the best shape of your life in the quickest time possible. That does not mean we expect you to already be in shape before you come in. On the contrary, those that are out-of-shape and/or who have never worked out before are sometimes easier for us to train. You have no bad habits for us to correct. You are a "blank canvas" for us to work with.
Short answer: NO!
How much is it?
If you are looking for an imitation bootcamp that charges you $20 a class and you go whenever you feel like getting your butt kicked - which isn't often enough, I'm sure - then we are not for you. We will not pack a room (or throw you outside because we don't have enough space to accommodate everyone) full of 25 or more people with one, possibly 2 untrained "coaches" that scream at you to go harder, faster, stronger. We do not base our programming on "Navy Seal" training protocols of which we would know NOTHING about. We are trained professionals that deliver the CrossFit programming of broad, general, inclusive fitness and we take that term very seriously - hence our name. We invite you to come in for one-week to experience our 3-For-FREE program and decide what our value is. Three sessions with us will help you determine if we are right for you and if you would like to continue on with us, or go "shop around" for something cheaper.
Short answer: Cheaper than a personal trainer, more expensive than the gym membership you are paying for and not using.
Do I have to be a member or can I just drop-in from time to time?
You do not have to be a member, but you must go through On-Ramp Orientation or be a member at another CrossFit facility to purchase drop-in sessions. While not the most cost effective means, drop-in sessions can be purchase for $20 per class. Call to ask about our CrossFit affiliate discount. The per session charge is cheaper the more often you come because you will be easier to coach as time goes on.
Short Answer: No, but you may not get the same results.
Do I have to sign a contract?
Absolutely not! When you want this "marriage" to end, you simply give us 30-days written notice and we terminate the relationship, no questions asked. You help us improve our business by letting us know if there was something we could have done better to keep you - but if you don't want to be here, we don't want you here.
With that said, we reward those who are committed to us by offering tiered discounts for pre-paid memberships of three, six and twelve months.
Short answer: You must sign a Client Draft Agreement that you can end at anytime.
Can I put my membership on hold while I'm on vacation?
No. We only place memberships on hold for extended illness or injury. During the months of December, July, and August (high vacation months) we only charge members the Limited Plan rate but allow all members to come in unlimited. We also provide a list of travel workouts as well as will design workouts based on the equipment you have available while away.
Short Answer: No.
How do I cancel my membership?
Contact us via telephone or email and let us know of your desire to cancel. We will email you a cancelation form to fill out. Simply fax it in, mail it back, or drop it at the gym. Your cancellation will be effective 30 days from the date we receive your completed form. You are welcome to continue to use the facilities during your 30 day cancellation period. All draft payments will continue during the 30 day period.
Short answer: Give us 30 day written notice.
Do you offer child care?
We have a secure child's playroom with TV, Playstation, DVD player, couch, crayons, and walls made of dry erase board for your children's use. The door can be locked from the outside to ensure little ones do not come out and the low set window is made of plexiglass for them to be able to see you the entire time you workout. The room is unsupervised and children who are not enrolled in our BGI Fit Kids or Teens classes are required to stay in the room while at the gym. They are not covered to be out on the gym floor using any of the equipment otherwise.
Short answer: No, but we have a safe room for them to stay in.
