Registration for the 2012 CrossFit|Reebok Games season is open! If you have not already done so, please register at this link to participate in the next 5 weeks of Open workouts. The first workout will be posted on Wednesday, February 22nd. Our plan is to run each workout during a day of the week that it fits into our programming. We do not always know when the workout will post and we may not have enough "judges" on staff to verify your workout during the weekday WOD, but we will do our best.

Like last year, we will have an official day, either Saturday or Sunday depending on judges availability, that we run the posted workout. We are going to run a "one shot, one kill" rule this year. You may use the WOD during the week to "test" the WOD, but you better come to the weekend WOD prepared to do it one time! We do not have the time or equipment available to be running the Open WOD's multiple times. We will hold our trainers to the same standards.

Registration for the Open is not only for firebreathers, competitors and those desiring to make it to Regionals as an individual or team. It is open to every CrossFit BGI member who wants to harness the commaradere and competitive spirit we all share. Whether you finish first or last in the Open is not important, only that you attempt to finish each of the 5 workouts. We are already a team of like-minded individuals who compete with each other every day. Now is when we want to tap into the positive energy of pushing ourselves and each other to the maximum potential we each have. We hope you will join us!

  • Debbie, you still have to do burpees. You are exempt from NOTHING. So suck it up and do the burpees and jump ~ lol

  • Here is a link to Team BGI. http://games.crossfit.com/team/1396 Those on team will be exempt from any burpees until the start of the competition!

  • I am IN!! I bet I won't do better than last year, but under my circumstances is a great motivation to keep my self busy thinking about the open instead of being tired thanks to my weird thyroid system I have. I hope my scores are not too bad so I won't make BGI look bad :/
    By the way, I really want to thank everyone helping me and motivating me to finish the WODs every day, although many times I am the last one, I finish and all thanks to everybody's motivation and support. PLEASE keep helping me like that because is the only thing helping me so I won't give up because this recovery really sucks!

  • FYI, starting tomorrow everyone will be doing 10 burpees prior to each class. Anyone signed up for the CrossFit Open is exempt from this new rule.

  • Yes, I did. Smalls took care of it today. I can't wait for the Open and watch Wyatt puke and stick his head in the toilet. Fun times!!
